"Hello, my name is Teneshia Kragness. Who is Teneshia? I'm Glad you asked.
I've lived in Brooklyn Center for 23 years. I'm an accountant by trade, and I truly love what I do. I also served on the city's Finance Committee for 12 years, including as Board Chair.
The reason why I love Brooklyn Center is because, when I moved here, it was all about family and community. I lived just down the street from Brookdale back when it was simply Brookdale, and I loved it. Over time, though, things changed. Telling people, you lived near Brookdale started to carry a negative stigma. I didn't like that narrative because this is my home. That's why I chose to get involved with the city and be part of the conversations that could help change it. I wanted to change how people saw OUR city. MY city. YOUR city. So, I kept volunteering. I stayed involved. I became part of those conversations, and you can too."

"I want to thank the residents of Brooklyn Center who came out and voted, and especially those who placed their trust in me. That kind of trust doesn't happen overnight. It is built over years of showing up, serving our community, and doing the work. You can tell people who you are, but ultimately, they remember what you show them. I'm incredibly grateful that the results reflected that trust."
Thanks!
Teneshia
